MALHAM COVE ROAD SD 9062-9162 (west side) 12/4 The Row GV II

5 cottages, now 3. C18 reusing early C17 elements. Rubble, cottage to right slobbered rendering, Cottage to left limewashed. Stone dressings, stone slate roof. 4 stone ridge stacks. 2 storeys. Originally 5 single-bay cottages with doors to right (door at right hand end now blocked) except left-hand cottage which has door to left and single-storey covered way to left again with moulded C17 lintel reported to have come from Malham Hall. This cottage has reused early C17 windows with cavetto mullions and hoodmoulds, 5 lights to ground floor, 4 lights to upper floor with central lights stepped. Third and fourth cottages have chamfered doorways, the latter in C20 porch; otherwise, the openings are plain. Late C19 and C20 sashes and casement openings, plain boarded doors.
