SE 10 NE BARNSIDE LANE 5/5 (Hepworth)

Barn to north-west of Nos 5 and 6 (Barnside) GV II

Barn. Dated 1674. Coursed rubble. Quoins. Stone slate roof with finials. Carriage entrance to left and right of central outshut mistal extension which has deep arched lintel to doorway at each end. Doorway to right has inscription H 1683 I with carved motif. Left gable has central doorway with chamfered surround and arched lintel with slender keystone. At higher level to right is part blocked doorway with shaped lintel inscribed: K I E (?) 1674 Interior: king post trusses with struts and braces. One queen-post truss to right. Posts support purlins and one truss at junction with outshut.
