Detached house. Early C18 with later C18 and C19 extensions. Brick with a red tile roof and brick stacks. Rectangular main body with slightly later extension to right gable end, linked via wall to dairy. Later extension parallel to main body at rear. Wall to walled garden runs forwards from the dairy building to an open- fronted store then returns across the front of the house returning west towards a small square outbuilding then back to the house. Main body; 2 storeys and attic. Three-bay garden front. Two 16- pane sashes to the first floor with gauged brick heads and fluted keystones. Two tripartite 2-pane sashes to the ground floor, flanking a central 6-panel door with the upper four panels now glazed. Fanlight under an open triangular pediment supported by engaged Doric columns. Band between floors. Limestone modillion cornice below a deep parapet. Extension parallel to main body at rear. Sash windows within segmental-headed surrounds and 2 and 3- light casements. C19 six-panelled door up 5 stone steps with fanlight (now painted over) and a projecting shallow gabled canopy supported on corbels. Band between ground and first floors of bay to right of door which also has a wooden modillion cornice. Brick dentils to bay to the left of the central entrance bay. Axial and projecting stacks to main body and extensions including a pair of diagonal stacks. Interior of house not inspected. Dairy. C18. Brick (no roof at time of resurvey April 1986). Rectangular plan linked to the main body via a wall. Two storeys and cellar. Band between floors. Wall facing onto the lane has a segmental-headed window to the ground floor, 3-light wood casement with a transom above. Remnants of an extension possibly containing an oven at the east gable end. Steps down to cellar at the opposite end. Plank pitching door. Interior contains the original slate slabs on brick supports. One shallow slate trough, possibly for salting. Walled garden. C18. Wall is c2m in height and is ramped downwards in front of the house where it has a cast-iron railing. Triangular brick coping to wall.
