TEWKESBURY SO8933 HIGH STREET

04/03/52 No.46 GV II House in row. C16 and C18, C20 replica facade. Timber-framing
with brick nogging, front is replica framing with plaster
panels, tile roofs, brick stacks. A main building with
throughway to the left, and deep back wing, with a further,
lower wing, all with very steep roof pitches. The parapeted
frontage has been rebuilt on early fabric.
3 storeys and basement, 3-windowed. Plain sashes, square at
the second floor, all in moulded architraves, and in replica
framing with small square panels. The ground floor, underbuilt
to a former jetty, has a good 3-pane C19 shop front with thin
mullions to elliptical heads, under a deep fascia partially
concealing the window-head. Basement grille and pavement
access to the left. To the left a door to the throughway, in
plain pilasters, and under a carved frieze and cornice. The
gable to the right, with stack, and rendered; left gable in
brick.
The principal wing, with ridge height slightly below the front
block, is steep-roofed, with heavy timber framing, in 2
storeys and attic. A hipped dormer faces to the right (N), and
there is a stack in line with the back eaves of the street
block. A lower wing is similar, but with heavy framing and
square plaster panels. There is a large brick stack at the
outer gable. INTERIOR not inspected.
