HENTLAND CP SO 52 NW 3/53 Group of six chest tombs to south of junction of nave and chancel of the Church of St Dubricius

GV II

Chest tomb for Mary Gammond, died 1754. Sandstone ashlar. Moulded flat capping, deeply scrolled end panels with acanthus decoration, cartouche to swelling side inscription panels; hour-glass carved on west end panel.

Chest tomb with eroded inscription panels, .....?, died 1751. Sandstone ashlar. Flat moulded capping, scrolled end panels with carved swags.

Chest tomb for Sophia Donne, died 1838. Sandstone ashlar. Deep moulded plinth, hipped capping, reversed batter to panels which have incised margins, forming trapezia.

Chest tomb. Partly illegible inscription for wife of Benjamin Donne, died 1757. Sandstone ashlar. Flat moulded capping, corner balusters, cartouches and swags to side panels.

Chest tomb for .....? Donne, died 1787. Sandstone ashlar. Flat moulded capping. Corner balusters extending along side panels, arched margin to western end panel, side panels have margins with quadrant corners.

Chest tomb for Sarah Donne, died 1814. Sandstone ashlar. Flat moulded capping, fluted corner balusters, oval margins to side and end panels with paterae in corners.
