Classical style. 3 storeys, attic and basement; 2-window
range.
An angled, irregular terrace with moulded plat band, broad
upper pilasters to a frieze and dentil cornice, and attic
storey with moulded coping. Nos 1-3 angled back, No.4 broken
forward with paired central pilasters, Nos 5-7 plain upper
floors, and the right-hand pair with recessed sections over
the doors.
Nos 1-3 have right-hand doorways, with panelled jambs and
lintels and overlights with margin panes, left-hand doorway to
No.4 with margin and overlights, and 6-panel doors; Nos 5-7
have plain surrounds to doorways, Nos 8 & 9 have wide 2-leaf
doors and margin and overlights. Thin surrounds to tripartite
ground-floor windows, eared architraves to first floor,
smaller on the second floor, architraves to the attic; Nos 4,
8 & 9 have tripartite first-floor windows with pilaster jambs
and cornices. 6/6-pane sashes, 3/3-panes to the second floor
and attic.
The right-hand return has a symmetrical 3-window range forming
2 houses, with a rusticated section round the doorway and
pilasters between the upper windows, and door with margin and
overlights; entrance to No.3 in the right return has a moulded
semicircular-arched doorway, fanlight and 6-panel door.
First-floor timber balconies have cast-iron brackets and
moulded railings. Rear has segmental-arched stair lights.
INTERIOR: entrance hall divided by an elliptical arch, to a
rear stone cantilevered open dogleg stair with cast-iron
moulded balusters, curtail and wreathed rail, modillion
cornices with patera, 6-panel doors and shutters.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron spear-headed front
basement area railings, front garden walls and railings to Nos
3 & 5 have rounded coping and a cast-iron gate.
