Barn. Early C17, with bay added c1768. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 6 bays. East front: quoins, central cart-entry protected by projecting porch under cat-slide roof with main roof. An aisle to left was probably added mid C18. This has doorway with tie- stone jamb set within the re-entrant angle. To right of porch 2 rectangular ventilators and doorway with composite jambs and chamfered surround. Quoins mark division with added bay, to right, which has flight of 10 steps to lst-floor doorway with chamfered jambs and other cart-entry with monolithic lintel inscribed " B ". Coped gables with I B 1.7.6.8 kneelers. Rear has tall cart-entry with chamfered composite jambs and wooden lintel protected by row of projecting slates. To either end, doorway with composite jambs and deep lintel with chamfered surround. Set between, triangular ventilators. Added bay, to left, has small windows to 1st floor.

Interior : 2 bays have original Type 1 king-post trusses with tall king-posts lacking struts (D.J.H. Michelmore, "A Preliminary Typology for Pennine Aisled Barns with King-Post Roofs", The Brigantian 3 (1974), (A Journal of Huddersfield and District Archaeological Society). 3 trusses with renewed fish-bone king-posts, but retaining original tie- beams, probably when barn was extended c1768. Rear cart-entry has wooden mortices for harr-hung door.
