Details

TQ 3080 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER ST. MARTIN'S LANE, WC2 72/48 5.2.70 Nos. 82 to 84(consec.) (Westminster County Court) G.V. II County Court. 1908, by H.N. Hawks (Office of Works) and with carving by Gilbert Seale. Portland stone ashlar slate roof. Restrained Free Classical style. 3 storeys and attic. 5 windows wide. Central entrance surmounted by Royal Arms. Flat voussoir-arched ground floor windows with recessed sashes, and prominent mask keystones. Upper floors have recessed sashes with pediments, to 1st floor, and cornices; the top floor windows in pairs framed by Ionic columns. Channelled quoin pilasters, string courses and sill courses, main modillion cornice topped at each end by paired dies.
