GV II
House. An early C19 remodelling and enlargement of a late C17 farmhouse. Stuccoed rubble; local slate to rear range, Welsh to front. 2 storeys. Double depth; the rear range incorporates the C17 farmhouse; 2-room and central entrance hall to front range. Front: symmetrical 3-window range; stucco quoining, stone window surrounds; horned 4-pane sashes. Door surround with cyma and bolection mouldings to cornice and architrave respectively. Raised panel door, the upper panels now glazed. Rear range under hipped roof; irregular fenestration, the 1st floor windows very tall in the local C17 vernacular tradition; hornless 12 and 20- pane sash windows. Now an end entry. Rear range contains flag floors and a door with HL hinges; inserted stairs, early C19, cantilevered half-Imperial, stick balusters with turned and ramped rails. C19 cornices and internal panelled shutters throughout; some early C19 fire-surrounds, but mostly replaced c1900.
