SURBITON PORTSMOUTH ROAD (south east side) Kingston University Seething Wells Hall of Residence Boundary railings and walls to former Chelsea Waterworks

(Formerly listed as Boundary railings and walls, Chelsea Water Works, PORTSMOUTH ROAD)

GV II Boundary wall and railings, c1858. A series of stock brick panelled piers, linked by a sill wall with stone coping bearing cast iron railings having lotus motifs to the uprights and the horizontal rail having a decoration of a series of pyramids. This boundary wall and railings stretches from outside No. 85 Portsmouth Road to the boundary with the old Lambeth Water Works site, 27 metres north-east of the entrance lodge to the Lambeth site, a total frontage of about 115 metres.

In 1995 these structures formed the boundary to a Hall of Residence complex of Kingston University.
