House. 1922-23. By C E Elcock for Mr & Mrs W H Sessions. Brick whitewashed and pebbledashed with tile string course, pantile Mansard roof with brick stacks. Painted tile lintel band. All windows are metal frame casements with square leaded glazing. Single storey plus attic. Entrance front, 4 windows. Right of centre bay gabled beneath 4-centred pointed head. Right of centre bay has front door to left of two 4-pane single lights. Front door vertically panelled and nail studded with glazed insert and flat arched head. Above, gable filled by staircase window of 3 tall arched lights stepped at the bottom. To left of centre canted bay window of five 8-pane lights. Left outer bay has window of two 4-pane lights, right outer bay one of three 6-pane lights. Attic has 2 flat topped dormer windows to left of gable, one with single 6-pane light, the other of three 6-pane lights. At base of front door stones to left and right inscribed EMK & WHS, and 1922-23 respectively. Garden front, 4 windows. Centre has double French doors with flanking side lights in recessed porch. Above a cantilevered timber balcony in front of wide segment arched opening, also with double French doors and flanking side lights, beneath projecting hipped gable. Ground floor to left of loggia has 2 windows, one of three 6-pane lights and one of 4 similar lights, window to right of three 8-pane lights. 3-light dormer windows flanking central gable. Left return, has five 8-pane lights arranged 1:3:1, attic has six 6-pane lights arranged 1:4:1. INTERIOR. Original built-in fixtures and fittings survive throughout, including panelled open well staircase with square newels and moulded ramped handrail swept at bottom on rounded curtail steps. Left room lined with built-in glass fronted bookshelves, timber fire surround with grate, tiles, moulded shelf and lozenge shaped overmantel mirror. Large reception room at rear has inglenook fireplace with tile surround and moulded shelf, flanked by panelled screen pierced by circular opening, on each side round arched alcoves with shelves and panelled bench seats. Service rooms have built-in dressers and shelving, dresser aligned with tiered hatch doors behind, to large reception room. On first floor fitted linen cupboard on top flight of stairs. Entrance lobby, hall, staircase, landing and all rooms except service rooms fitted with plain panelling. Most rooms retain original radiators. Most bedrooms have original wash basins. Original light switches, door and window furniture, built-in cupboards with hooks and hall coat hooks survive throughout.
