TQ 2980 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER OLD BOND STREET Wl 70/66 (east side) No 22 - II Commercial palazzo. c. 1900-06, probably by William Flockhart. Facade completely faced in cast Doulton ceramic "marble" and faience, slate roof. 4 main storeys. Florid Italianate style. 4 windows wide. Ground floor retains polished red granite frame of piers and entablature with semicircular arched doorway to left, mid C20 shop window. 1st floor windows with frames and rounded corners to flat arches are articulated by engaged order of Ionic pilasters with enriched entablature; 2nd floor windows have archivolts with keystone masks, articulated by engaged order of Corinthian columns. Oculi in richly carved frieze with eagles beneath heavy and prominent eaves cornice. Ornate balcony across 2nd floor.
