GV II
Village hall. 1900. Roughcast walls and tiled roof. A rectangular building of 5 bays, with wings at the south (rear) end. Plain roof, extended at a flatter pitch over the wings. The side walls have shallow buttresses, the front (north) elevation having red brick, pilasters at each side, with modillion cornices. The gable has a coved and moulded plaster verge. A central double door has a moulded canopy on brackets, the cornice moulding extending at each side as the cill to the large window, which fills the gable. This has 6 lower lights and 4 upper lights within the arched frame. Leaded casements. Inside there is a continuous oval barrel vault, exposed tie-beams, and a flat ceiling along each side, the rooms in the wings have segmental plaster vaults. An unaltered period-piece, included for group value.
