Parish church. C13, C14, C15, restored 1862. Coursed rubble and ashlar, rendered in parts. Pantile roofs, with tiles to the chancel. The west gable of the south aisle is coped and has a single kneeler. West tower, nave with north clerestorey, south aisle and porch, chancel. The church is buttressed and apart from the tower is on a plinth. The C13 tower of 2 stages is rendered with ashlar quoins and dressings. The 2nd floor south has a small lancet window, with a larger one to the 1st floor west. The bell chamber has four 2-light traceried openings with hoodmould and label stops, the eastern one having a centre carved head to the hoodmould. There are 4 carved heads to the corners of the tower which is embattled with a crocketed pinnacle to each corner. The coursed rubble north wall, rendered in places, has 2 windows to the nave, the eastern most one being C15 square headed with 2 lights, tracery and hoodmould over. The C14 arched and traceried window to the west has 2 cusped lights with quatrefoil. There are 3 similar C14 windows to the clerestorey, which was heightened when the north aisle was removed. There is a single gargoyle. The chancel has a single C15 3-light square headed traceried window with hoodmould. The rendered ashlar east end has an arched C15 5-light panel tracery window with cusping and hoodmould. The coursed rubble and rendered south wall of the chancel has three C15 3-light windows. The central one is slightly smaller and has a doorway under. All have tracery and are square headed with hoodmoulds and label stops, the western one has lost its west label stop. The doorway has a moulded arch with hoodmould over. The east wali of the ashlar south aisle has an arched C15 3-light panel tracery window with hood mould. The south wall has two C15 3-light arched panel tracery windows with hoodmoulds. The ashlar and rendered diagonally buttressed ano gabled and gabled porch has a central doorway, with an engaged column either side with castellated abaci supporting a moulded arch with hoodmould and label stops over. The west wall of the south aisle has a 3-light square headed traceried window with cusping and quatrefoil. Over the south nave is an embattled parapet. The arched interior porch doorway has a hoodmould and label stops. Interior. The nave and south aisle are separated by an arcade of 3 bays, having octagonal piers with castellated abaci supporting chamfered arches. There is a blocked chafered tower arch with moulded capitals. A chamfered arch with castellated abaci separates nave and chancel. The north wall of the chancel has e blocked arch with octagonal piers and castellated abaci, around the arch is ballflower ornament, with hoodmould and label stops over. The south wall of the chancel has a piscina with ogee arch over. Behind the altar rail, adjacent to the north wall is e C14 recumbent knight, also in the chancel is e tablet to Slingsby James, eldest son of Slingsby Duncombe c.1831. The early C19 box pews in the nave and aisle have puppyhBBds. The nave roof is timbered with a few remaining C15 bosses.
