AVETON GIFFORD FORE STREET SX 64 NE (north end) 4/25 Farm buildings at Tree Farm GV II Stable and byre. C18 or early C19. Rubble, stable with slate and byre with corrugated iron roofs. A pair of buildings at right angles, enclosing a small yard, opposite Tree Farm (q.v.) and at the foot of the hill approaching the parish church; a third shed, enclosing the west side, is not of special interest. The 2-storey stable has 3 openings to wood lintels and 'skied' stone drips (or possibly cills from above), with ventilated plank doors, under central loading door. Back has large central loading door at upper level. At right angles, to lower ridge, the byre in 2 storeys with 3 openings to wood lintels, under central square loading door; left end concealed by later building. some repair in concrete blockwork. Important as completing a group with the farmhouse.
