Farmhouse with barn, now dwelling, Late medieval, ceiled C16, barn added, roof raised on facade, late C20 refenestrated and restored. Random rubble local stone, thatched roof, lean-to addtion left gable end, inserted stack right gable end,to right of cross passage and lateral stack at rear masked by barn. L-plan facing south, open hall house ceiled to 3-cell and cross passage with unheated inner room, lean-to addition west gable end, barn at rear. Two storeys, 4 bays;all C20 casements, lean-to left projects forward slightly, entrance second bay left. Interior not seen, said to contain chamfered beams with step and runout stops in hall and outer room, latter with semi-circular fireplace recess against rear wall, inserted stairs right, hall fireplace with chamfered lintel. Upper storey, 2 pairs of smoke blackened jointed cruck trusses and evidence that the east gable end was originally half-hipped. The house is unusually wide at 20 feet and is also interesting as one of the few Somerset examples of medieval half-hipped roofs. (VAG Report,unpublished SRD, November 1979).
