Parish church. Predominantly C14, with C15 and some C16 additions and alterations. Coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar dressings, all parts except tower and vestry with cement render. Clay tile roofs. Chancel, N vestry, nave, N and S aisles, S porch, W tower. Chancel: pointed-arched 3-light E window with flowing tracery. S elevation has 2 pointed-arched 2-light windows to E bay, small square-headed low-side window and pointed-arched doorway to W bay. N elevation has 2 2-light pointed-arched windows flanking doorway to vestry. N vestry: original square-headed E window blocked, C19 2-light window inserved in N elevation. Nave: C14, but roof lowered when aisle walls raised C15 (original roof-line visible on tower E wall). Tall slender pointed-arched arcades to both sides, each of 4 bays. Similar chancel arch. N aisle: C14, heightened C15. Retains C14 pointed-arched E window. N windows, one of 4 lights, 2 of 3 lights, are all C16, uncusped, with 4-centred heads. S aisle: C14 heightened C15. All C16 windows, similar to N aisle ones, but without E elevation window and with additional 3-light window to W elevation. C14 S doorway. Embattled parapets to aisles and nave. S porch: C15. Pointed archway. 2-light square-headed window to each side. Plain parapet. W tower: C15. 3 stages, with angle buttresses to W, and embattled parapet. W buttresses of nave visible in stonework. Octagonal staircase turret to SW angle. Bell-stage has pointed-arched 2-light window to each side. W elevation ground stage has pointed-arched doorway surmounted by 2- light pointed-arched window. Interior: chancel E window flanked by gabled and pinnacled niches, N one more ornate. S chancel wall has piscina with traceried head. Chancel has C16 3-bay crown post roof. Nave and aisles have C15 roofs with moulded timbers and bosses, and retain a few carved corbels. Early C14 font to nave, 8 shafts supporting octagonal bowl with shields and embattled frieze. Chancel S wall has marble table to Katherine Arnold d.l681. Marble monument to James Astry d.1716 on chancel N wall.
