Detached house. Later C18 and C19. Ashlar, squared and coursed and rubble
limestone, plain tile, but stone slate to main front slope, concrete tile to
wing. A front range with later parallel block, and a C19 'Tudor' wing, back
left. Front is symmetrical 2-window, 2 storeys and attic. At ground floor,
left a large 30-pane sash, and right a 12+30+12-pane flat roofed canted bow with
sashes. First floor has 16-pane sashes under two 2-light small-paned gabled
dormers. Central gabled low-pitched porch to segmental-headed opening with pair
of margin-bar half-glazed doors; small arched lights to return. Right gable, to
road, is plain; lofty ashlar gable stacks. Back of block is mid C19 in 2
storeys with a 'Tudor' opening to hood-mould and at first floor a 3-light case-
ment with cusping to a gable with a square sunk panel with circle, and a cross
slit. Left return from front has a 2-light casement over 16-pane sash, and,
right, door with hood-mould. Wing to left is in a 'Tudor' style, 2 storeys, 2
windows, 2-light chamfer-mullion casements, also a 3-light with pointed heads to
lights, hood-mould, and a shield beneath a six-pointed star and crown. Door is
good 3-panel top glazed, in 4-centred head. Interior not inspected, but some
inner shutters remain.
