Farmhouse. C16, enlarged with asymmetrical flanking wings and west gable end rebuilt late C17, refronted in brick C18 and entrance roved, restored late C20. Red brick, Flemish bond, over rubble and some cob, rendered east and west ends, steeply pitched asbestos slate roof hipped to right, wall plate, brick stack on stone base above blocked entrance, double stack left gable end; wings hipped, slate roofed south-west with external stack on west front, plain clay tiled south-east. U-plan: lobby entry, now 3-cell with corridor addition on south front linking wings. Two storeys, 5 bays, first floor C19 wooden cruciform casements, ground floor under segmental headed relieving arches, 3-light left flanking porch, 4-light centre, blocked doorway between second and third bays left, two 2-light casements beyond, lead roofed porch, pointed arch window on facade, entered right return through 6-panel door. Right return: first floor 4-light ovolo moulded wooden window, entrance to through corridor; abutting brick wing unlit with moulded brick plinth and dog tooth string, diaper pattern in chimney breast. South front of wing one bay, upper storey rendered, pilaster strips flanking large opening with keystone, similar opening ground floor with brick relieving arches, both with inserted C20 fenestration; re-entrant angle, first floor blocked opening with keystone flanked by pilasters, ground floor relieving arch with carved keystone above C20 window. South-east wing lower, irregular fenestration and buttressed in west corner. East gable end with evidence of demolished wing. Interior: good moulded stone lintel with spandrels to west end room fireplace, lobby entry now a cupboard, chamfered beams with scroll stops, upper storey not seen. The south-west wing is featurless but is said to have contained a simple plaster moulding prior to C20 restoration. It was probably a parlour with the south-east wing (not seen) for agricultural purposes.
