School. 1835. A.H Holme. Later alterations and additions. Stone. Two storeys with basement, nine bays. Greek Revival. Clasping pilasters and entablature. Three centre bays break forward behind tetrastyle Ionic colonnade. Inscription on entablature reads "LIVERPOOL INSTITUTE", later addition reads "AND SCHOOL OF ARTS, 1825". Windows are sashed without glazing bars. Entrance with architrave and cornice, and paired two-panel doors. Area railings with spear heads. Later range to rear has cupola on octagonal drum without round-headed openings.
