Gazebo, Terrace Retaining Walls, and Steps, approximately 30 metres to South and 30 metres to West of The Manor House.

Gazebo, terrace retaining walls ,and steps. Mid to late C16 with some C20
re-building. U-plan, approximately 25 x 35 metres with walls to East, West,
and South, rectangular projection to West, and gazebo projecting centrally
to South. Walls: squared and coursed sandstone retaining walls; red brick
parapet (English bond) ramped up to gazebo, re-built to East and West.
Gateway to West with flanking ramped parapet, stone jambs, and wrought iron
gate, leading to dog-leg staircase with solid brick parapet and moulded stone
coping. Rectangular terrace projection to West; 2 large stone buttresses
with 5 chamfered set backs. C19 door to South with stone jambs and depressed-
arched lintel, and C19 red brick and old tile outbuilding above. Gazebo:
sandstone ashlar, red brick (English bond) with ashlar dressings, and old
tile ogee roof with lead finial. Octagonal plan. 2 storeys. 3 first floor
chamfered 2-light mullioned windows in South, South-West, and South-East faces,
with later inserted glazing bar sashes; ground floor chamfered square window
to South. First floor boarded door from terrace to North with segmental head,
and carved shield and narrow slit opening above; ground floor boarded door to
West. Interior: panelled walls with cornice, top panels quarted; fireplace.
These are the earliest surviving structures at the side of the former Shifnal
Manor, (qv) The Manor House.
