Manor house, then farmhouse, now house. Late C16 to early C17. Stone rubble with ashlar stone string course at first floor. Plain old-tiled roof. Projecting rubble stone stacks each side and rear with diagonal brick shafts with spurs and caps. H plan consisting of 4 bays of main range with 3-bay cross wings. EXTERIOR: 2 storey with attic and basement. North front with gabled porch wing on left hand side, containing pointed arched opening with ovolo-moulded chamfer and stepped hoodmould, quartered armorial panel enriched with devices and initials 'I T T R ', cross-boarded door with double-ovolo-moulded doorcase, restored oak 3-light mullion window at attic level. Restored oak 2-light mullion window at ground level and basement casement opening, each side of porch gable. Central range with restored oak mullion and transom window at ground and first floors with C19 4-light casement at basement. Staircase gable to right with restored oak mullion windows with the lower windows having transoms, with inserted C19 panelled door with adjacent casement. Gable to far right with restored oak mullion windows, the lower windows with transoms. Right return side: 2-storey and basement, 2 window range with central projecting stone stack, all windows blocked with rubble stone except first-floor right 3-light casement and 2 basement mullion windows. Left return side: 2-storey and basement, 2-window range with central partly projecting stone stack corbelled out from first floor and rising to central gable. All windows blocked with rubble stone except front porch gable windows and 3-light casement at centre left. Rear: gabled porch wing on right hand side, containing round-arched opening, steps down to boarded door in moulded oak frame. C19 casements to first and ground floor with restored oak mullion window at attic. Central 2-storey and basement range divided by central projecting stone stack with 2 C19 casements to left and one to right, with casement each side at basement level. Gable to left with restored oak mullion windows, with the lower windows having transoms, dovecote holes in stonework at each lower verge of gable. INTERIOR: ground floor with great hall to east fitted with C17 oak panelling with C18 panelled cupboards inset at blocked window positions, bridging beams with ogee chamfer stops, large fireplace with chamfered oak mantel beam. Central C17 oak open-well staircase rising through 3 storeys, with square tapering balusters, carved handrail and closed string, and open-work newel finials and pendant stops. Dining room (parlour) to west: C17 oak panelling with dentilled cornice, enriched strapwork upper wall plaster and ceiling between moulded beams, large fireplace with swept mantel with ogee chamfer stops, carved overmantel and pilasters. First floor: large west bedroom has C17 oak panelling with moulded plastered beams, upper wall plaster features cast medallions with mythical beasts. Other rooms with creased boarded doors and bridging beams with ogee chamfer-stops. Attic: east bedroom with stone arched bread oven adjacent to small fireplace. Single trenched purlin roofs of 4 bays with 3-bay cross wing to west, trusses with straight and cambered tie beams, vertical struts, and high collar with twin raking struts over.
