St Mary the Virgin, Horsham Lane, Upchurch, Swale, Kent ME9 7AL View on map

There has been a church on this site since at least 1100. The tower and oak-shingled spire is a striking feature, the "candle snuffer" spire being unusual. Inside a wall painting of St Spiridon, 15th century tiles, two 15th century brasses, medieval glass and many other notable carvings.

The church will be open every day from approximately 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Directions

Proceed along the A2 from either Rainham or Sittingbourne. Turn down Oak Lane, continue into village church at the end of the road. Rainham Station approx 4 miles away Bus route 327 from Sitt Forum to Medway hospital (Mon-Friday hourly)
