Dedicated Historic Environment Record room with two visitor desks. Appointments are required. Access is free for the public, students and other researchers. The HER charging schedule for commercial enquiries is available online as part of the Archaeology Charging Schedule. Designated public access PC. HER searches can be sent out in paper or digital format but a visit to the HER is recommended to allow users to access all the information available and discuss the results with HER staff.

Staff on hand to show how information can be found. Visitors to the HER also have access to free advice from the Service's Development Control Archaeological/ Countryside Advisors. Photocopying and scanning facilities available for a small charge subject to copyright. Wheelchair Access is available. The HER is easily accessible by public transport and car.
