The Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES) Council Historic Environment Record is the definitive source of information on the historic environment in the administrative area of BaNES. The record contains nearly 9,000 records of archaeological sites and finds, historic buildings and landscapes. The database and mapping are available online and there is also an extensive library of unpublished fieldwork reports and associated documents that have been digitised and are availble via email by request. Other background information is available from the Bath Record Office and the Somerset Heritage Centre.
