Church of St Peter, Church Lane, West Huntspill - Sedgemoor

Large parish church, with chancel, nave, quire aisles and nave aisles, two-storeyed south porch and western tower. Largely C14, lias with Ham stone dressings. The church was gutted by fire in 1878 and comprehensively restored in neo-medieval style. The aisle roofs leak every six months and are patched with sealant and flashband as they are too fragile for more reliable repairs. Lias stone has problems in some places, notably the north parapet, north aisle vice turret and tower. The parish was unsuccessful in its bid for Listed Places of Worship Roof Repairs Grant in late 2016.
