Church of St Botolph, Church Side, Shepshed, Shepshed - Charnwood
Church with C13 west tower and spire. C15 nave, with clerestory and aisles, and chancel. C19 north porch. South vestry of 1935. South transept with vestry by Albert Herbert. Of Charnwood granite rubble with ashlar dressings and Swithland slate roofs. Issues have been identified with the roofs and flashings which have resulted in water ingress internally. There are numerous and sizeable woody rooted growths in the spire and an accumulation of vegetation in the gutters. The church is otherwise well maintained and the congregation are keen to undertake repairs.
