Church of St Peter, Bagworth & Thornton - Hinckley and Bosworth

Parish church with fabric from C13, C14, C15 and C16. The chancel dates from 1864. Constructed from a mixture of mount sorrel stone, red brick and half timbering. The ashlar tower dates from C15. The church was subject to heritage crime in 2019. The affected roofs were re-covered in early 2020. There is water ingress in the nave suspected to be from the valley gutters which needs investigation. There are concerns that the nave is moving away from the tower. Some opening up is needed to invetigate and a period of monitoring advised. The church is otherwise well maintained.
