Church of St Mary the Virgin, Church Lane, Berkeley - Stroud

Parish church. C12 foundation on probable site of important early medieval minster church, altered in C13 and C15, and in C19. Random coursed rubblestone, roofs with coped verges and cross finials. Nave and aisles of seven bays with clerestory windows to south only, north porch, lower chancel with flanking chapels. The roof has been extensively repaired. The extensive interior wall paintings continue to decay.
