Church of St Margaret, Berrington - Shropshire (UA)

This church is located within the grounds of Betton Strange Hall and surrounded by woodland. It was designed by Richard Dodson and built in 1857 - 8. It consists of a nave with a north porch and a lower chancel: the west end bell-cote has been removed leaving only the base intact. The walls are constructed in coursed red ashlar with buff sandstone dressings and steeply pitched roofs covered by plain clay tiles. Notwithstanding unchecked vegetation and tree growth, the church is in reasonable condition. It is in the process of being closed but rights of access to it have still to be clarified.
