Church of St Giles, High Road, Uxbridge - Hillingdon
The nave and chancel are late C14, the bell turret is C15. A north aisle added c.1575 along with the south porch. An extension in 1958 by E.C.Butler added two bays to the west end. The church is built in flint rubble and brick with dressings of stone and brick. The roofs are tiled with a weather-boarded and shingled belfry. Some walls have a cement-based render and in areas cementitious pointing, both contributing to damage of historic plasterwork internally, particularly in the St John’s Chapel built c.1640 where there is also dampness from the roof and the rainwater disposal arrangement.
