Church of St Peter and St Paul, The Street, Ewhurst - Waverley
C12 church with nave, C13 transepts, C15 porch. Chancel largely rebuilt1838 after the central tower collapsed. Wealden sandstone rubble and dressed sandstone blocks on buttresses. Stone slab roofs with short, wood-shingled broach spire to tower. Cruciform plan. Water ingress through the roof of the chancel has led to the ceiling plaster falling. National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants for Places of Worship scheme repairs to the chancel, south transept and south nave slopes were completed in 2019, but the remaining roofs are in urgent need of repair. They are now seeking further funding.
