Church of St Peter and St Paul, The Street, Ewhurst - Waverley

C12 church with nave, C13 transepts, C15 porch. Chancel largely rebuilt 1838 after the central tower collapse. Weald sandstone rubble and dressed sandstone blocks on buttresses. Horsham slab roofs with short, wood-shingled broach spire to tower. Cruciform plan. Water ingress through the Horsham stone slate roof of the chancel has led to the ceiling plaster falling. National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants for Places of Worship scheme repairs to the chancel, south transept and south nave slopes are on site during summer 2019 but the remaining Horsham roofs are in urgent need of repair.
