Church of St John, Mamble, Mamble - Malvern Hills
Rural parish church in the centre of a village. c1200 origins with C14 and C16 phases. Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, brick additions and tiled roofs. Timber bell tower with shingled bell turret. The Blount Chapel on the north side of the chancel has been roofless for a long time. The bricks are starting to show severe effervescence at high level possibly as a result of the rebuilding of the brick and tile coping of the wall head. Harmful ivy growth is also a problem on the north side of the chapel. Plans for restoration of the chapel have now been developed.
