Church of St James, Roscow Avenue, Breightmet - Bolton

Church of 1855 by W R Corson. Coursed and squared stone walls with slate roof. Early English Gothic style with west tower and broach spire, nave with two aisles, clerestory and chancel. At risk because of extensive nail fatigue resulting in a rapidly failing slate roof. There is also significant structural movement at the head of the tower staircase. A Minor Repair Grant from the Taylor Review Pilot was received in 2019 to help with repairs to the roof, stonework and rainwater goods.
