Church of St Nicholas, Church Lane, Hockerton - Newark and Sherwood
Former C12 to C14 church, with a restoration by Hodgson Fowler in 1876. The building is in very bad condition. Previous historic movement is evident in the stonework, and it is possible this is still ongoing. Rainwater goods are defective and choked with vegetation and detritus. There are numerous slipped and missing slates to pitched roofs and some ridge tiles are loose. Some vegetation has been cleared from the north side of the building. Archaeological works have been undertaken, and a new use has been approved which includes various repair schemes and renovations.
