Mythe Bridge, A438, Tewkesbury - Tewkesbury
Road bridge over the River Severn. Built 1823-26 by Thomas Telford, cast iron bridge of six segmental arched latticed beams, latticed roadway beam with latticed ironwork filling the spandrels. Each abutment has outer and inner sandstone piers separated by six brick arched tunnel vaults with cast iron colonettes. Cast iron roadway balustrade between piers. The ironwork of the balustrades is rusting and some cracking at the connections. Sandstone piers, especially above roadway level, are severely fractured and eroded with some excessive vegetation growth.
