Gleaston Castle, Gleaston, Aldingham - Westmorland and Furness Council (UA)

Early C14 to late C15 castle, now part of a working farm. Its condition has been slowly deteriorating over a number of years, and part of the north west tower collapsed in 2021. In 2015 a programme of building recording and geophysical survey was undertaken and a conservation statement produced as part of a Morecambe Bay Partnership project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. In 2018 Historic England funded a condition survey and options appraisal to inform a sustainable management strategy.
