Elstead Bridge, Elstead, Surrey
This bridge was built in the 13th century, possibly by the Monks of Waverley Abbey. Originally it had 7 arches. Now it has five with Keeled, i.e. pointed, cutwaters upstream and rounded cutwaters over keeled plinths downstream. It is one of an early series of bridges over the River Wey between Farnham and Guildford. It is of great historical importance.
