The collection contains an album containing 61 photographs of which 13 show interiors and exteriors of Normanhurst Court near Battle, the East Sussex home of Thomas Brassey (1805-1870). The house was built in 1869 in a French chateau style and was demolished in 1951.The photographs demonstrate the extravagance of the house and the eclecticism of Lady Annie Brassey's collection of artworks which was displayed there. The album contains a press cutting that mentions the demolition of Normanhurst Court in 1951.
Also included are photographs of Rosenau House on the River Thames at Datchet, Berkshire which burnt down in the 1930s; gardens and stables at Oxshott, Surrey; and Warnham Court near Horsham in West Sussex. Other single images represent Brighton aquarium, Carnarton House in Cornwall, Gloucester Cathedral, Cowes, Bournemouth, Carnanton Mill in Cornwall, Mawgan church in Cornwall.
The album also contains views of Pau, Nimes and Bagneres Lochon in France, Croagh-Patrick in Eire, and Fuenterrabia in Spain.

The album was purchased by the NMR in 2008.
The history of the album is not known. It bears the bookplate 'Bis Dat Qui Cito Dat' (a Latin phrase meaning: he gives twice who gives promptly) and 10 pages at the beginning of the album have been cut out.
