The collection comprises photographs taken by Pete Smith, an architectural investigator, as part of his threatened buildings recording in his role as a listing inspector. There are twenty-six colour 35mm slides of Algarkirk Woad Mill, Lincolnshire; and twenty-six colour prints and corresponding negatives showing the Cold War Early Warning Station at Fylingdales, North Yorkshire (known colloquially as 'the Golf Balls'). The images were taken between about 1994 and 1999.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2020.
