Description

By the 1820s the existing medieval church of St Peter had become too small for the growing congregation and in 1830 the new Church of St Peter ad Vincula was consecrated. The former church was demolished. In the late 19th century the stones were rediscovered by Charles Lynam, who re-erected them on their approximate original site.
