Description

The organ was built in 1631 and was originally installed at Magdalen College, Oxford. It was moved to the chapel of Hampton Court Palace in 1654, where John Milton is reputed to have played it. The organ returned to Magdalen College once more in 1660, but was sold to Tewkesbury Abbey in 1736. The organ is thought to be the oldest organ still in regular use in the UK.

This negative is marked as a 'duplicate negative'; it appears to be identical to negative AA43/06357.
