The Ship Hotel was built on waterlogged ground in circa 1935 for Home Brewery, to the designs of Baily and Eberlin. It was constructed around a steel frame with reinforced concrete walls. This clipping is a half-tone mechanical print, mounted in the 'Licensed Premises I' portfolio of clippings from the journal 'Architecture Illustrated'; a series of portfolios showing examples of modern architecture produced in the early to mid-twentieth century.
