Description

The stone is inscribed with the following text: 'This building was designed by General Sir Henry James R.E. F.R.S., commenced 17th November 1871 and finished 20th June 1872, at a cost of £1334. Contractors Messr. W. F. & C. Light, Clerk of Works, Master Serg. J. Downing'.
