Description

85 High Street was a late medieval timber framed building of high quality with a rear wing of similar construction. This taller block at the eastern end of the rear wing to the main building, had a stone ground floor and jettied timber framed upper floor with close studded framing apparently dating from the 15th or early 16th century. The building was demolished in 1965 to facilitate the mixed use development known as Bishop's Walk.
