Description

The original engraving appeared in Barber's Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight, published 1834. The Guildhall, or Town Hall, was built in 1819 to designs by the architect John Nash. This image shows the building before the addition in 1887 of a clock tower to the right hand side of the main facade.
