Description

This copy negative appears to have been created in 1967 from an original print also held in this collection. This finely-executed reredos was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott as part of his restorations to the cathedral between 1863 and 1867, but was removed in 1959 along with the filigree iron choir screen he also designed, to give the congregation an unrestricted view of the high altar from the nave.
