Description

This relief panel is sculpted in porphyry, a red stone. The rest of the fireplace is sculpted in white marble with four other porphyry sculpted reliefs. Gorhambury is a large country house built between 1777 and 1784. The house boasts another mantelpiece by Piranesi, located in the Library.
