Description

The upper and lower fly floors contained the manual raising and lowering mechanisms that controlled the changes of scenery during acts of the theatrical plays. These would have been operated by backstage theatre hands. Pages 62 and 63 of Richard Southern's 1970 book, 'The Victorian Theatre - a Pictorial Survey' show images of the fly floors at this theatre.
