The Chapel of the Resurrection and the attached vestries in the south-east corner of the church were added by Sir Charles Nicholson around 1920. They were just two of the many 19th and 20th century alterations to St James' which included the rebuilding of the transepts and porch, the replacing of the aisle windows and the restoration of the nave roof.
